Eflassovon Town

The Village of Eflassovon, adorns the island's south central region, surrounded by mostly rain forests. Land around the village has been cleared for vegetable gardens, fruit orchards and pastures for grazing.

The main walls of the village are some 18 to 20 feet high, offering safety from the wild animals that roam the island at night and raids from pirates. At any given time there are 8 to 10 villagers, serving as guards, who walk the walls. The village's main gate is constructed on the west, leading to the bay and docks. Two smaller gates also allow access to the village, one on the north, leading to the quarry and one which sits on the east of the village.

The main streets of the village are stone slabs from the island quarry, forming wide paths which wagons can easily travel with loaded goods. Two main streets lead out of the village, one to the bay and the other to the bridge over the island lake, before turning onto a dirt path, barely wide enough for one wagon, leading to the plateau on the east coast, which will be the location of the House of Talarius.

Three well-kept paths also lead out of the village, one to the quarry, one to the old fort and a shorter one to the lake.

Once a week, the villagers of Eflassovon meet at the village center. Goods produced by the local artisans, ranging from bulk grains and dried meats to oils from the jungle plants, are loaded into the wagons and a trip to the main harbor gets underway.

Tangaroa Village

Tangaroa, meaning "of the sea", is a small fishing village located on the north side of the island. The village is composed mostly of farmers and fishermen, with a sprinkling of various artisans and a village healer.

The village is mostly constructed of wooden huts. Some of the more prosperous citizens dwellings have stone foundation and stone ovens. The majority of the village huts are along the walls of the Palisade, with a row of smaller shops along the east wall. However, the most popular place in Tangaroa is the local tavern.

The village boasts a small wharf, where smaller vessels can moor, and an adjacent gentle sloping beach where larger ships can be grounded. On any given day, one might even see the "Green Galley" or the "Wooden Tarsk"....two known pirate ships sailing the waters off the northern shores of Helisto.

Because of Tangaroa's protected harbor, pirates are frequently seen. Tangaroa provides the necessities for seafaring pirates, a Tavern and protected moorage. In return, the pirates provide the village with items they may not ordinarily afford.

While the quarry is located close to the village, not everyone in the village sees it as a good thing. The quarry offers employment and pays well, according to Gorean standards, thus pulling at the pockets of the young people of Tangaroa.
